What we do
We exist to serve individuals and organizations, and do our best to best allow for life’s unexpected and unfortunate surprises to have a minimal adverse financial impact. That’s really what a properly structured insurance program does, and this is our objective whether it’s your personal home policy, your medical device in clinical trials, or your public company d&o.
How we do it
Market ready – do you know how to best present your operations to the underwriting community as profitable business to them – does your agent – is it being done? We do this; we have a system and create a plan for you. It makes a big difference.
Simplified purchase – you don’t want to deal with insurance as, well – it’s just not your thing. As such you don’t want to allocate much of your time to what you don’t like, and don’t well understand. Our “To Know You Is to Love You System” is designed to be comprehensive in a one stop way. The objective is for us to understand operations, how you create revenue and profit and what your customers value, and insurance related exposure. It is thorough and efficient and the product of many years and study, good well-built experience, and yes, some mistakes - we are proud of where 40 years of hard work has gotten us and what that’s allowed us to do for clients in 2021. In addition, in certain instances we can offer a short form approach, for those kicking the tires or starting out and who may just want general guidance and an indication.
Renewal management – is critical, particularly in our hardening 2021 insurance market. Again, our renewal systems objective is to get your program in front of and being worked on by underwriters as early as possible. Doing this eliminates the anxiety that can exist in the process, and allows for proper planning, budgeting, and oversight – and no surprises. We have a state of the art technology / service platform, ongoing communication, and a plan for your renewal.

We understand that we are here, to help, assist, and provide value to others – that’s what motivates all of us – and our canvas is insurance. We’re not saving the whales or transplanting hearts, but we do know financial protection, and we are excited by the opportunity to do what we do best, for you.
Agency Leadership
Bill McClure, after leaving the Air Force, did his undergraduate work in business administration and completed his MBA program while working for Travelers Insurance Co. After Travelers Bill worked for Fred S. James for several years, and during this period developed an expertise in the fire suppression industry, setting up and managing the insurance program for this industry thru out the mid-Atlantic states. In 1986 Bill founded W.R McClure Insurance Services; this agency initially specialized in the fire suppression industry. Over time the McClure Agency clientele became more generalized and offered both commercial personal insurance to their clients thru out the northeastern states.
Dan Gilligan started in the industry in 1989 and in 2003 left his old partners to found Paradigm Insurance Services, also a general insurance agency, and with a focus on IT and media companies. Along the way, Dan obtained designations as an Accredited Advisor in Insurance, Certified Insurance Counselor, and Certified Risk Manager. Dan and Bill assisted each other over the years as friendly and non-competing insurance professionals, even at times sharing employees when that was needed, and in 2020 merged their businesses to form Connor-McClure Insurance Services, with the combined operation moving to the current location in Hampton, NJ.
Connor-McClure clients range from individuals and the smallest organizations to public companies, and CMIS systems and approach is consistent in seeking to reduce overall cost of risk in a thoughtful and transparent way, and allow for no surprises. This process sets on our core business principles of integrity, honesty, empathy, creativity, enthusiasm, and clear and regular communication. We deal this way consistently with our three audiences of clients, carrier partners, and wholesalers/program managers.
